This is a plan for setting up the acceptable sampling technique that includes criteria setting sample size, and for accepting and rejecting a component, product, or service based on samples meeting prescribed quality criteria. Plans may involve single, double, sequential, chain, multiple, or skip-lot sampling techniques. With variable samples, management may deploy single, double, and sequential sampling techniques.
CRITICAL DEFECT
This is a safety defect which has the potentiality to cause significant injury or illness in person's assembling, handling, or using the product, and/or is not in compliance with regulatory requirements.
MAJOR DEFECT
Defects having a seriously deleterious effect on the usage or the appearance of the product. It’s a defect that everybody can detect easily even a final customer.
MINOR DEFECT
Defects which will not be systematically noticed by user, and which affect neither the use of the product nor customer satisfaction over the period of time.
